According to a study Monday, Apple expects to ship between 15 million and 20 million foldable iPhones when they go on sale in 2023, citing a note by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to 9to5Mac, the phone would have an 8-inch foldable touchscreen, as expected by the expert.
"We believe that in the future, foldable devices will blur the lines between smartphones, tablets, and notebooks," according to the analyst note. "Apple will be the biggest winner in the recent foldable smartphone movement, thanks to its cross-product ecosystems and hardware design advantages."

Apple started buying parts for foldable devices in June last year. Apple was reportedly negotiating with LG to become a vendor for the foldable phone, but plans were put on hold after news about Samsung’s plans to launch its own foldable phone this year. Apple eventually decided to buy parts from multiple suppliers to get the production process started earlier than expected.
Rumors of a foldable iPhone have already surfaced, but this one seems more credible. According to papers obtained by Engadget and a report from MacRumors, reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo informed investors that Apple intends to introduce an 8-inch foldable iPhone by 2023. According to the claim, which is based on a "industry study," Apple expects to sell 15-20 million devices in 2023.
Kuo had hinted at the potential of a folding iPhone in March, but his new report includes additional information on suppliers. It is expected that Samsung Display would provide the QHD+ flexible OLED, while Samsung Foundry will supply the DDI display controller. It also mentions that Apple will utilize TPK's silver nanowire touch technology "because to numerous benefits over [Samsung's] Y-Octa technology."

However, if customers do not embrace the gadgets as Kuo expects, Apple may abandon the project like a hot rock. To put it another way, a lot can happen in the next two years.
The foldable gadget market is already a crowded one in the IT world. Several gadget manufacturers have previously tried to break in, with different degrees of success. According to Kuo, Apple is considering using a silver nanowire touch method for its display. Apple's HomePod presently uses silver nanowire. It is said that not only will it offer urgent answers while it builds its first foldable iPhone, but it may also provide the firm with a “long-term competitive advantage” for future versions.
